On November 15th, we welcomed two new missionaries to Dominica. They are Elder Bishesar from Suriname which is part of the Caribbean, and Elder Peterson who is from Utah. That will put two tall blonde blue eyed Elders walking around Roseau. Elder Bishesar's family joined the church when he was five. His parents have a Hindu background on one of his parent's side and Muslim on the other. He is a great addition and speaks, Dutch, English and Spanish.

New Baptisms
On Saturday, November 28th Charlotin Saint Louis and Jhonson Gervais were baptized. Elder Bruner confirmed Jhonson on Sunday. They are from Haiti and speak French but the common language here between them and the missionaries has been Spanish. They are students in Sister Bruner's English Class. They are wonderful young men.

Coconut Beach
This is the beautiful sight that greet us each day for our morning swim exercise. The water is warm, usually calm, never big waves, just swells, and very very clear. We are usually the only ones there. Just, to be useful, we take some time to pick up some littler to keep it looking nice. It is in Prince Rupert's bay which is three miles wide, and is the bay of Portsmouth.

New Missionaries
On July 27th we welcomed Elder Rogers from Oklahoma and Elder Crandall from Texas to Dominica. Elder Rogers, the tall one, is the new District Leader and assigned to Roseau. Elder Crandall is now in Portsmouth. The airport is small but in a beautiful setting on the Atlantic side and planes take off over the Atlantic. Running along side is a beautiful river. It is located one hour from Portsmouth as there is little flat land on Dominica and as yet has no night flights as there are no lights! The ride to the airport is winding but very lovely.

Our Family's Visit
On June 30, 2009 John, Diane, Austin, Brooklee and Tom came via Carnival Cruise Line and visited for one day. We had a wonderful time going to Scotts Head and Soufriere where we hiked and enjoyed the scenery. We could see where the Atlantic meets the Caribbean at Scotts Head and then climbed in woods to view sulfer springs at Soufriere.
